This scholarship is for high school seniors who excel in math and science and attend a high school located in an area where Hilcorp Energy Company has oil and gas operations. Eligible schools include Erath High School, Franklin High School, Hahnville High School, Patterson High School, South Plaquemines High School, South Terrebonne High School, Terrebonne High School, South Cameron High School, Central High School (Baton Rouge), and Denham Springs High School in Louisiana; Refugio High School, Sweeny High School, and Vidor High School in Texas; Kenai Central, Skyview, Soldotna, Ninilchik, Nikiski, and Tebughna in Alaska; and Wilmington Area High School in Pennsylvania. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA during high school and be US citizens. Winners of the scholarship must enter college in the fall term following the award and must enroll as a full-time (at least 12 hours per semester) undergraduate in a recognized college or university in the United States that holds accredited status with a regional accrediting commission on higher education.
