This scholarship is for high school seniors residing in the city of Houston, Texas. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must plan to attend a two- or four-year college or university in the Fall of the subsequent year, and have at least a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence, financial need, demonstrated leadership, and commitment toward the advancement of Hispanics. Moreover, the HISBA Scholarship for Excellence is particularly focused on assisting a high school senior who will be the first in their family to attend college and who is also interested in pursuing a career in the legal profession. Applications will be made available in the Fall through the Harris County School District.
