This scholarship program is for students of Hispanic origin or descent (applicants of mixed heritage are encouraged to apply as long as one parent is of Hispanic origin). To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be residents of Texas, plan to enroll in an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States on a full-time basis, and be US citizens or permanent residents with permanent resident ID cards or current passport stamped I-551. Successful candidates are selected on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, community service, personal strengths, and leadership.
