This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who will be enrolling full-time in the fall at an accredited institution of higher learning or an accredited technical school; or students currently enrolled full-time at an accredited institution of higher learning or accredited technical school. To qualify, applicants must be residents of Southern Maryland, which includes Calvert, Charles, Prince George's, and St. Mary's counties. Applicants must also demonstrate an understanding of the importace of "giving back" to his or her community, through a 500-word essay and at least three recommendations from school, church, and/or civic leaders.
