Scholarship Overview

This scholarship is for Kansas minority students who are academically competitive and demonstrate financial need. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be African American, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Asian, Pacific Islander, or Hispanic. Priority is given to college freshmen applicants. The minimum academic requirements include one of the following: ACT score of 21 or SAT score of 990 (1500 three-score equivalent); cumulative GPA of 3.0; high school rank in upper 33%; completion of Kansas Scholars Curriculum; selection by National Merit Corporation in any category; selection by College Board as a Hispanic Scholar. Scholarship recipients must attend a Kansas community college, independent college, or state university. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need.
