This scholarship is for Texas high school juniors, seniors, and immediate graduates. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must reside in and attend/have attended a public, private, or accredited school in one of the seven school districts overlapping the Barton Springs/Edwards Aquifer Conservation District (BSEACD) boundary: Austin, Eanes, Dripping Springs, Hays Consolidated, Del Valle, Bastrop, and Lockhart. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must write a research-based essay on groundwater issues. While essays must focus on groundwater issues, applicants do not have to be planning a career path in a water-related field.
