This scholarship is for residents of Calhoun County, Michigan, who are interested in skilled trades or manufacturing technology careers. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be women and/or minorities. The support from this fund assists in improving career options for minorities and women in the skilled trades by 1) increasing their knowledge and appreciation of manufacturing and skilled trades careers; 2) encouraging the development of skills to improve career options through apprenticeships; 3) developing relationships with local journeymen in the student's area of interest; and 4) producing a group of qualified individuals ready for entry level skilled trades careers.
