This scholarship is for women from Orange County, California, with high academic ability and significant financial need. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be recently or currently enrolled at an accredited Southern California community college and have completed at least two semesters with at least 12 units of academic work in each semester at the time of application. If currently or recently enrolled in a community college, units must be transferable to a four-year college or university. Applicants must have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA in the transferable coursework and demonstrate an ability and intent to earn a bachelor's or advanced degree as a full-time student. Applicants also must have identified a possible educational focus and obtained two written recommendations, one of which is from an instructor in that field.
