This program is for residents of Missouri who are current or former foster students. To qualify, applicants must meet one of the following conditions: 1) is currently eligible for Chafee services, this includes students who have exited Children's Division custody at age 17 and a half or later until the age of 21; 2) were adopted from foster care with the adoption finalized AFTER their 16th birthday; or 3) were placed in kinship guardianship from foster care after their 16th birthday. Applicants must be US citizens or qualified non-citizens; be at least 18 but younger than 21 to apply for the first time; and have been accepted into or be enrolled in a degree, certificate, or other accredited program at a college, university, technical, or vocational school. Applicants' personal assets (bank account, car, home, etc.) must be worth less than $10,000. Funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible students.
