This scholarship is for seniors graduating from a public or accredited private high school in a community where Electronic Systems is a major presence: the state of Maryland; San Gabriel Valley, Antelope, Conejo, San Fernando, Simi Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Ventura County, California; Orange and Seminole County, Florida; Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Mount Prospect, Palatine, and Rolling Meadows, Illinois; Erie and Niagara County, New York; Butler, Claremont, Hamilton, and Warren County, Ohio; Davis, Salt Lake, Utah, and Weber County, Utah; and Albemarle County, Virginia. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be residents of one of the communities above, plan to attend an accredited college or university as full-time students in an approved engineering program, have a minimum composite SAT score of 1700 or ACT score of 27, and have a minimum 3.5 GPA for grades 9-12. Scholarship recipients are required to accept summer internships two out of three summers.
