This scholarship is for students who have a mailing address in Owatonna, Minnesota, or who have worked at an Owatonna business for at least the past two years. To qualify, applicants must be high school graduates or possess a GED. Those who have already been accepted to a technical or community college program without a high school diploma or GED are also eligible. Applicants must have graduated from high school prior to or with last year's graduating class. If not a high school graduate, the class from which they should have graduated must have been prior to or with last year's graduating class. First-year students and students currently enrolled in non-four year technical programs who have at least one full year of credits remaining are eligible to apply. Applicants may pursue their education on a full- or part-time basis, but must carry a minimum of three credits. Applicants must indicate and display a strong aptitude and desire to succeed in their chosen career and a positive attitude and be good citizens of their community. Financial need may be considered, but will not be a major factor.
