This scholarship is for students who reside themselves or whose parent(s)/guardian(s) resides in the PG&E service area in Northern and Central California. (The service area in Northern and Central California stretches from Eureka in the north to Bakersfield in the south, and from the Pacific Ocean in the west to the Sierra Nevada in the east and includes the following counties: Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Kern, Kings, Lake, Lassen, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tulare, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba.) To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be graduating high school seniors planning to attend college in the Fall of 2013 or current college students. Applicants must have a 3.5 unweighted GPA and a 1500 SAT score (1000 three-score equivalent). Dependents of PG&E employees are eligible for this scholarship; however, employees of PG&E are not. Applicants must be available for an interview either by phone or in person in February or March, 2013.
