This scholarship is for current college students who reside themselves or whose parent(s)/guardian(s) resides in the PG&E service area in Northern and Central California. (The service area in Northern and Central California stretches from Eureka in the north to Bakersfield in the south, and from the Pacific Ocean in the west to the Sierra Nevada in the east and includes the following counties: Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Kern, Kings, Lake, Lassen, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tulare, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba.) To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a 3.0 weighted GPA, have an interest and desire to pursue a career in the energy sector. All majors are eligible, including science, technology, engineering, math, and all energy-related majors. Dependents of PG&E employees are eligible for this scholarship; however, employees of PG&E are not.
