This scholarship is for high school seniors, high school graduates/GED holders, and current undergraduate students in northern and central California. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be at least 16 years old and live within the Pacific Gas & Electric service area, which includes the following counties: Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Kern, Kings, Lake, Lassen, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tulare, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba. Applicants must plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school for the entire 2014-2015 school year. Non-traditional students who are returning to school or planning to pursue a postsecondary education for the first time are eligible and encouraged to apply. Selection will be based on community leadership, personal triumph, financial need, and academic achievement.
