This grant is for Pennsylvania high school graduates who are attending a participating postsecondary school. To qualify, applicants must be enrolled at least half-time; be enrolled in an approved program of study of at least two academic years in length; be enrolled in a program of study where at least 50% of the total credit or clock hours needed for completion of the program are earned through classroom instruction; make satisfactory academic progress; not have already earned a bachelor's degree; be a Pennsylvania resident; be of satisfactory character; not have received the maximum number of Pennsylvania State Grants permitted; and not be in default or pending default on an educational loan. The amount of money awarded is based on applicants' financial situation and the type of school they plan to attend. May 1 is the deadline for first-time applicants who plan to enroll in a degree program of a college transferable program at a junior college or other college or university (excludes community colleges). August 1 is the deadline for first-time applicants who plan to enroll in a community college; a business, trade, or technical school; a hospital school of nursing; or a two-year program that is not transferable to another institution. August 15 is the deadline for summer term applicants. To apply, applicants must submit the FAFSA and the Pennsylvania State Grant forms.
