This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors and continuing college students who are golfers. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a home address or have attended a high school located in the counties of Scott, Clinton, Cedar, Muscatine, Luisa, or Des Moines in Iowa; or Whiteside, Rock Island, Henry, Mercer, Knox, Warren, or Henderson in Illinois. Applicants must be full-time college students enrolled for the purpose of earning credits for a bachelor's degree. Applicants must write an essay of up to 500 words on why they wish to graduate from college, their current career goals, and golf experience. Merit is evaluated by school activities, community and personal activities, and work experience (25%); ACT or SAT testing and school transcripts (25%); golf experience (25%); student essays (15%); and letters of reference (10%) are all judged criteria.
