This scholarship is for high school seniors who are legal dependents of members of Michigan locals of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT). Members must be active or have been placed on a seniority list as of April 1, 2012. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have applied to or be accepted as first-year, full-time students at an accredited postsecondary two- or four-year institution located in Michigan. Applicants must demonstrate strong scholastic performance while in high school or significant academic improvement each successive year, achieving the equivalent of a B average at graduation. Applicants must exemplify qualities of leadership in school, extracurricular activities, and the community. Dependents of employees of the Michigan Teamsters Joint Council #43 and/or its affiliates are not eligible, nor are dependents of employers of Michigan Teamsters.
