This scholarship is for graduating seniors from high schools in Ventura County, California, who are enrolling in an accredited four-year college or university or community college. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate excellent scholarship, initiative, good citizenship, excellent writing skills, and financial need. Preference is given to those with a 3.0 GPA or higher who are pursuing a major in English, journalism, creative writing, and other language arts. To apply, applicants must register online by January 8th and submit an essay discussing the single most important thing learned in high school that will help with success in college.
