Scholarship Overview

This scholarship if for residents of Illinois who are African-American high school seniors or students currently enrolled in an accredited college. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have middle-income economic status; good academic standing (minimum 2.5 GPA); and declared the intention to enroll in a four-year accredited college, two-year community college, or accredited business or vocational school. Scholarship recipients will be required to attend a banquet to be held on February 22, 2014. Scholarship recipients are also required to participate and/or volunteer at a minimum of one SIS-sponsored event or fundraiser before the scholarship is awarded in August 2013.
