This award program is for residents of the Berkshire Taconic region in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. To qualify, applicants must be between 16 and 36 years of age and seeking to deepen or enrich an abiding passion or serious interest though study and research of a specific topic and/or development of a project. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and other sources of support for the project. This scholarship is awarded based on the quality of project, its scope, its significance to the applicant's ongoing work/life; the commitment of the applicants to achieving the project's goal as evidence by other financial support for it; a commitment for public presentation of the results of the work completed under the award; potential impact of the Tupelo award to the applicants and work/project; and potential to benefit from this award, as shown by recommendation letters.
