Scholarship Overview

The Marysville Kiwanis Club established this scholarship with a donation from Dr. Charles B. Mills, for his interest in education and youth, and dedication to Kiwanis of which he was a past president and served on numerous committees for the benefit of the organization. The scholarship honors the father of the donor, Charles D. Mills M.D., who was a charter president of the Marysville Kiwanis Club in 1923. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage qualified students of Marysville Early College High School and Marysville High School to seek education beyond high school and to provide financial assistance. The scholarship will be awarded annually in the amount of $1,000.00. The scholarship will be non-renewable, that is, a different student will receive the award each year. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Marysville senior who is planning to attend a four-year baccalaureate degree program. Scholarship recipients will be chosen on the basis of the following: Character Industriousness Integrity Need Class Ranking Perseverance Also taken under consideration by the selection committee, is if any of the applicant's relatives are members of Kiwanis or if the applicant is a Key Club member
