Scholarship Overview

This one-year scholarship is available to two different kinds of applicants. Part is for students graduating from Black Hawk County, Iowa, high schools who will be attending an accredited 4-year college or university. Students must have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher; demonstration of financial need; membership in a church, synagogue or mosque; and good character, citizenship and leadership qualities. The other part is for seminary students at an Evangelical Lutheran Church of America seminary provided those students were originally Black Hawk County high school graduates. Priority goes to students with a college GPA of 2.5 or higher; demonstration of financial need and good character, citizenship and leadership qualities.
