Charles W. Brown, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Lake George Scholarship Association
Charlie Brown was a native of Schenectady but had a deep love of Lake George. Early in his life he began summering in Lake George, only camping at first, but soon his family purchased property on the lake at Cramer Point. While at the lake he worked at Dunham’s Bay since he loved being around boats, especially Lymans. He owned a 1964 Lyman which he purchase new and had until just before his death. He shared his love of Lake George with his children and grandchildren. The Charles Brown, Jr. Scholarships are awarded to students who have an appreciation of Lake George, are hard workers able to “buckle down” and achieve, and have a deserving need.
