First priority is given to students who are U.S. service veterans with a science education major in biology, chemistry or physics and planning to teach after graduation. If no veteran in need of financial assistance is available, a direct family member with financial need (spouse, child or grandchild) of a veteran shall be considered to be eligible to apply for the scholarship. If no science education majors with the veteran connections qualify, any major in biology, chemistry or physics who is a veteran or direct family member of a veteran with financial need should be considered.
