This scholarship is for seniors at Cook County High School in Grand Marais, Minnesota. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have academic standing in the top 25% of the graduating class, be active participants or leaders in school and community activities, have a measure of financial need, and intend to focus their study on the liberal arts (history, political science, writing, journalism, the fine arts). Scholarships will be awarded based on ability to succeed in higher education as evidenced by their academic record; essay content and how it reflects a desire to successfully pursue a liberal arts education; hard-working behavior, good character, and potential to contribute to society as evidenced by extracurricular and volunteer activities; and financial need.
