Dr. Matthew Ellison Memorial Scholarship Fund are awarded to students who are graduates of Summers County Public Schools for undergraduate study at colleges and universities with priority given to students entering the field of medicine. Each scholarship recipient is chosen on the basis of an evaluation of his or her application information and shall have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA for the four years of high school. Scholarships made possible by this fund are made specifically for the academic year for which the applicant first applies, with a possibility of continuing such funding for a total of four years of undergraduate work, contingent upon availability of scholarship.
