The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Scholarship Program encourages ethnic minority students from California to become educators, school nurses, school counselors or school therapists and to promote professional growth for ethnic minority teachers and ESP members. Applicant must be pursuing a degree, credential or certification for a teaching-related career in public education in an accredited institution of higher education. Applicant must be a member of one of the following defined ethnic minority groups: (African American/Black, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian/Pacific Islander or Hispanic).
