This scholarship is for children or spouses of police officers, firefighters, or other safety officers killed in the line of duty. Also eligible are the children and spouses of members of the armed services of the US who were killed in the line of duty during Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, or a combat zone designated by the President of the United States. The child is only eligible for this program if he/she is not eligible for the Ohio War Orphans Scholarship. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be Ohio residents attending a participating Ohio college and obtaining either an associate's or a bachelor's degree. Interested students should contact the Ohio Department of Higher Education State Grants and Scholarships Department.
