There are several options for having some fun at the Women's College in Gainesville! I personally recommend getting involved in the abundant clubs on campus. There are several options, and it is a great way to get to know other people. Many prospective students also seem to worry about where the boys are at, but trust me, they are around. There is a living space separate from women's dorms in which non-traditional students are housed, such as men attending for theatre, dance, or a few other departments. There is also the Gainesville Downtown Square no more than three blocks from campus, where you can find coffee shops, bars, and shopping. The Women's College is also less than an hour from Athens, Atlanta, and the Mall of Georgia! If you are into hiking, there are also several trails nearby and the famous Lake Lanier. The amount of activities available at Brenau University is probably one of the best aspects of the school.

Brenau offers a ton of activities and they send out an email each week on the upcoming festivities. It's important to take a mental break from your studies every now and then so there seems to always be something going on at Brenau. There are also many different clubs and organizations you can be a part of, as well as the greek life. And if you don't want to do anything at Brenau, Atlanta is only an hour away. Or Buford, 30 minutes away and has the Mall of Georgia.

There is a mall nearby-ish; as in a ten minute drive maybe twenty if you're in rush hour traffic. The square has good shops, and there is a few hiking trails/ lookout mountain, not to mention lake Lanier is a ten minute drive. There is Port Royale of lake Lanier with a restaurant and a big marina fifteen minutes away. No clubs or hoppin' bars that I know of, that's not my thing. Also North Georgia Gainesville campus is a few exits down the highway if you have friends that go there, that's probably where the bar scene is since it's a little bit of a bigger school.

Plenty of places to eat. Local events go on around such as the theater, festivals, speakers etc.

The school has an active student committee that invests its time and effort to making the students happy. The location is ideal to everything else that goes on in town.

There are little places on the square, which is walking distance, where one can go. Little shops, restaurants, and parks are nearby to go out on a nice day.

Brenau University has a handful of annual events to attend, and emails a newsletter which goes over all the activities of the week. Students know what is happening on campus via these emails, Brenau's own radio broadcasts, and word of mouth. Brenau has common rooms to hang out in, a tennis court (although I've never seen anyone use it besides tennis players), sororities and clubs to join, an art gallery (which is usually empty), a garden (always empty), a bookstore/store, and a theater in which virtually all performances happen. If you are looking to party hard, Brenau is not the school for you! Brenau is a dry campus meaning alcohol is prohibited. Whereas I'm sure a percentage of students drink and party anyhow, most of the students are more invested in hanging out with friends and having good, clean fun. College is a place to get an education, not a night club!

I like to attend theatre or outside events that are for all students and are free. Also like to go to the Square and eat or drink in local restaurants. As well as, walk around and workout.
