Am learning a lot
I was planning on going straight to a four year university right after graduating from high school but life had its way (this time) and I, not to happily, applied to go to LBCC. Now a student I can honestly say this school turned my frown upside down and the teachers are so sweet and helpful. I'm learning a lot more than I expected to and, yes, you get your money's worth and more!!
Am enjoying being here
I love it! The students, teachers and staff are very friendly, so much so that I actually remarked afterwards that I felt like I had just walked out of a gingerbread house. Bunnies, people, and smiles are everywhere.
Bang for the buck
I'm saving thousands of dollars by completing all my general education requirements here and with financial aid and scholarships available I would say that Bang for the buck might not be enough to describe LBCC.
Tips for prospective students
I would suggest prospective students take the course titled 'Counseling 1' it's a very simple class that provides all the tips and more to succeed in this college. I've just completed it and I can say it was VERY helpful.
Great for these types of students
This college is great for those who want to further their career, for the young and old, just graduated or not ... basically anyone and everyone. Did I mention it's very inexpensive as well?

Rememnber your favorite teachers in High School. Yea, the ones who cursed a few times, or told jokes to make you forget that you were in SCHOOL. Well LBCC is made up of professors just like your favorite teachers. You'll learn a ton of information, quickly and as much to your convenience as possible. They don't just hand you a ton of homework and hope you learn that way, they actually walk you through your subjects.

Long Beach is a very culturally diverse city. It seems like there is no one race that takes majority. You are able to make great friends on a beautiful campus with many amenities and resources at your disposal. The school parties and sports games are very exciting as well. Another cool detail is, if you do not like the campus you are currently at, LBCC has TWO campuses to choose from, The Liberal Arts Campus near Lakewood Mall and the Pacific Coast Campus located near Downtown Long Beach.
Bang for the buck
LBCC helps its students succeed by lowering prices for things like books and parking. Parking passes never surpass $25, and there are also some free spaces available near campus as well. EOP&S is a program that will help pay for your books, and other expenses you may have that Financial Aid will not cover. You will also have access to state of the art classrooms and computers that the school has recently purchased. Long Beach City College is continuously growing and building new things that students will love. You may be paying for Community College, but besides a dorm, you'll feel like you're at a university.
Tips for prospective students
If you're just getting ready to become a part of Long Beach City College, or any college for that matter, I would suggest that you take your most challenging courses first. Doing this will help you speed through school by staying in your high school mode. Take summer school classes because they usually have less homework and are a lot faster than taking a full length class. Pace yourself like a runner. Push hard in the summer, stride in the Fall, and build up momentum in the Spring.
Great for these types of students
Athletic students will like Long Beach City College, because it has a large array of sports to choose from, from swimming to football. Don't stop playing sports if you loved them in High School, or if you did not do so well back then. Now is your chance to redeem yourself.

In three sentences
Long Beach City College is a very adverse community of higher learning. Students, for the most part, have little respect for their professors; the reason being, they are not truly attending PCC for the education. It's about the $$$$, like everything seems to be in life. I have been introduced to some outstanding professors, most of which I have a established a professional student-teacher re pore.
Tips for prospective students
College is a lifelong attribute to your success. Take advantage of the opportunities afforded you, by attending school, and experiencing an enlightenment that may be positively overwhelming. Respect the professors you meet, as you journey through your educational goal(s). They have put the work in to educate students who care about a serious education, and are open to sharing that knowledge in their lectures, office hours, mentoring, etc.
Academic Rigor
I plan to maintain a high GPA throughout my journey, making it possible to achieve my credentials as a professor, and one day share my life and educational knowledge with serious students.
Food and Dining
I normally do not entertain the food gallery; however, I have heard several students comment that it is very good. Unfortunately, I have not had the same experience.
What to do for fun
I thoroughly enjoy reading actively, mentoring the few students I have to share my knowledge with, the outdoors, bowling, football, baseball, boxing, pretty much all sports. I train on a daily basis, to keep myself in good health and mentally alert. Brain food, if you will. Too many activities to list. I am just a ball of fire!
Bang for the buck
I am truly blessed that I am even able to do, to learn, to think at the college level. I have always prided myself on being a strong minded individual, and knew that there was a bigger plan than I could have orchestrated. It is my intention to take full advantage of the years I have left, learning, experiencing and sharing the time and knowledge God has given me.
Campus Safety
The campus safety patrols are performing outstanding work. I have experienced a few emergency situations on campus, and was impressed with their punctual attendance in resolving the matter at hand.

I started here in the fall of 2010 and currently still attending. Long Beach City college it's a really good school with the most helpful teachers. The staff are great as well and everyone is friendly. It has a really good learning environment and plenty of sources for you to succeed.
Am enjoying being here
Yes i enjoy being at LBCC, at first i was skeptical about how things were going to be since it's a community college. I honestly have to say that i feel that LBCC offers most help than other community colleges.
Bang for the buck
Every class and instructor usually require you little material and they don't go ask you to buy these highly expensive books. I actually save a lot of money because the books are not that expensive. The parking, food, and ect is also cheap as well.
Tips for prospective students
It depends what you're going for if you are wanting to transfer try doing good in your assessment test because if you don't you'll end up taking non transferable classes for English and Math. Take a counseling 1 so that you can avoid from being confused and it also helps you to understand better at what you're goals are.
Great for these types of students
If you just graduated high school, thinking about going back to school, or simply wanting to get a Associate degree i guaranteed you'll find just about everything at Long Beach City College.
