Minerva - An Overview

Are you interested in living in the world's greatest cities throughout college? Do you want to study exclusively in small seminars developing your ability to think critically and creatively?

Minerva is an accredited university program founded by industry leaders rethinking higher education to better prepare students to solve complex global problems. Minerva students live and learn in up to seven of the world's greatest cities throughout their four years of college. They study a practical liberal arts curriculum providing the intellectual foundation needed to be successful across a wide variety of industries. Minerva's entirely meritocratic admissions process and $12,950/year tuition results in one of the the most internationally diverse student bodies in higher education.

Minerva Schools at KGI

In July 2013, Minerva Project partnered with Keck Graduate Institute (KGI), a member of the Claremont University Consortium, to incubate the Minerva Schools at KGI. The Minerva Schools matriculated its founding class in September 2014 and will matriculate its inaugural class in Fall 2015.

Minerva draws on the best traditions of a research-based university while leveraging the latest available technology and harvesting decades of research on student learning and success. Combining a redefined student body, a reinvented curriculum, rigorous academic standards, cutting-edge technology, and an immersive global experience, Minerva is committed to providing an exceptional and accessible liberal arts and sciences education for future leaders and innovators across all disciplines.

  • Rich global engagement: students will have a global residential experience, spending Freshman year in San Francisco with subsequent semesters in global hubs like Berlin, Buenos Aires, and London.
  • Structured academic growth: Minerva's curriculum is designed to help students master critical thinking, creative thinking, and effective communication through cornerstone courses, deep study within academic disciplines and capstone projects. Classes are held on a virtual learning platform to encourage active learning.
  • Accessible to the world's best and brightest: Tuition is $12,950/year. As a result, our classes are among the most internationally diverse and impressive cohorts in higher ed, with an acceptance rate below 2% and 80% of students coming from outside the US for both classes.
