My biggest tip is to get to know all of your professors. Even in your first semester of Freshmen year, the road to receiving job advice, university information, and recommendation letters is paved by getting to know who your professors are. Another tip is to not let the college atmosphere distract you from your academics. The academics are superb here, but only if you take advantage of them instead of going out every weekend and never doing your homework. Homework and studying is key to earning a high GPA at MSU.

Learn to manage your time wisely! It takes a bit to figure this out, and it's pretty hard the first few weeks, but once you figure it out, then your life will be much easier. Also, get involved! You will have a lot more fun if you join a club or a sports team.

    1. Be as engaged as possible in all of the offered activities. 2. Make connections with any and all faculty; you reap what you sow. 3. Don't overload yourself with classes the first semester. This is a filter school, so they try to weave anyone out. Don't make it harder on yourself.

Live on campus the first year even if you can get it waived. Try to do all your work in time, but take breaks to relax yourself. Also, learn how to take 45 minute naps on command, power napping will keep you going.
