Categories Comments Clubs and Activities There are many options for clubs and activities at Saint Joe's. My personal favorites are the Mercy Center, Student Nurses Association, Campus Activities Board, and the Outdoor Adventure Club.
Great for these types of students This college is great for types of students that want to focus on school without too many distractions. There are many fun things to do on and off campus, but the professors here do their best to help you succeed in your studies.
Bang for the buck Saint Joseph's is generous to when it comes to financial aid. Yes, the tuition and board here is on the expensive side. If you really love the school, it is worth a try. The money situation worked out for me!
What to do for fun The lake is a lot of fun during the warm weather. You can even take a walk down there when it's not swimming weather and have a fire. Most student participate in on campus college life activities. There is also a farm across the street, which is a lot of fun! Its nice to take a study break and go hold some baby bunnies. My friends and I go of campus as well and never struggle to find something to do.
Food and Dining The food here is delicious! They switch up the options every day and the majority of it is organic. There is also a suggestion board if you have any food requests. The freshman fifteen isn't something to worry about here at Saint Joe's.
Dorm Life Some dorm rooms are smaller than others, but they are all do-able. Starting sophomore year, dorms are a lot bigger than freshman dorms. The cleaning staff are very helpful and super nice!
Academic Rigor The academics here are great. I am in the nursing program and I have no complaints. It is challenging but there is an unbelievable amount of resources and support here.

Categories Comments Campus Safety AWFUL! They think they are the biggest baddest cops in town. It's ridiculous. They also hand out tons of parking tickets and put tons of boots and tow cars. This all happens while they themselves occupie handicap spots to go to the caf and get their lunch or smoke buts in the woods.
Bang for the buck I'm overwhelmed by how much I am paying for school here, considered transferring to save money but it was not going to work out with my studies
What to do for fun Party. Sea coast fun park is down the street movies
Food and Dining They put on a big show while your here visiting. You can ask students when they're favorite meals are and most say when the school is doing tours.
Dorm Life I love in an awesome dorm but the cleaning crew sucks. Our laundry room sink was clogged for two weeks and there is always food slattered on the doors that doesn't get cleaned.
Academic Rigor I am impressed with most of my teachers here
Tips for prospective students If you are not receiving financial aid because you or your parents make to much money, research a different school. It is very expensive to go here. Get pre reqs done so you can focus on your studies
In three sentences Overall it's a good school I find myself getting frustrated often with things like the cafe food and campus safety. It is expensive if you don't receive any aid. Nursing program is supposed to be good.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Very expensive!
Tips for prospective students Pass your classes!
In three sentences Most professors are really good. The college is good for students looking for a smaller campus. There are a lot of degrees here. The Dean doesn't help out students very much. They don't provide many summer options. If students fail a class they automatically become a fifth year.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Saint Jesph's owns their own private beach on Sebago, which is a beautiful lake. They also have cheap weekend field trips.
Food and Dining Saint Joesph's has one of the top meal plans in the State. My father has worked there and brought food home numerous times, which is extremely delightful!
Dorm Life The dorms are incredible. They also have suites for Juniors and Seniors at the same cost of a regular dormitory room! Nurses suites are top of the line.
Academic Rigor St. Joe's has an incredible nursing program, which is very academically inclined. Also just to attend you should have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4 point scale. The rigorous course work is well worth it.
In three sentences Incredibly beautiful campus on the edge of Sebago lakes, one of the best in Maine. People in Maine are generally friendly and the admissions counselors are great with prospective students.

Food and Dining Online Studies
Dorm Life Online studies.
Academic Rigor Online studying is really something that you need to be very self disciplined in studying. Otherwise you may find yourself in deadline issues.
Tips for prospective students You need to make sure you are fully understanding of the financial department's requirements. Repeat back to them how you understand before signing anything.
In three sentences I am enjoying St Joseph's College. The only complaint I have is that the financial dept is not clear and concise of their information. Otherwise; I would recommend this college to any one.

Food and Dining superb! Some of the finest food services out of any small colleges in new england!

Academic Rigor Classes challenge you, but teachers are always willing to help making classes very managable.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The security building is in the center of campus. The security guards patrol in their cars and by foot 24/7. Very safe campus!
Clubs and Activities There are tons of clubs and activities going on every single day.
Great for these types of students Students interested in nursing, liberal arts, or education. Also, anyone who likes a small community similar to high school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Sebago Lake.
Bang for the buck A little over-priced for what it offers.
What to do for fun Portland is only about 20 minutes away, so going into town is fun. Also, every restaurant, bank, shopping center is right nearby for convenience. When the weather is nice the beach down at the lake is beautiful and lots of fun.
Food and Dining The cafeteria definitely needs improvement. More options would be a good start!
Dorm Life I loved O'Connor hall! The dorms are great and not too small.
Academic Rigor I found Saint Joe's curriculum challenging and appropriate for grade level. I didn't find any courses too difficult, definitely challenging, but manageable.
Tips for prospective students You will love St. Joseph's if you like small schools. It has a beautiful campus with a lake. I would recommend taking advantage of these things that others may not be aware of.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This college is great for students who want a great college experience that includes many opportunities to learn a wide array of information, while living in a friendly environment.
Tips for prospective students Learn the way that's best for YOU to study and don't be afraid to ask for help. Fellow students and faculty are very willing to work with you, whatever your circumstances may be.
Bang for the buck At Saint Joe's you really get what you pay for. The expanse of knowledge, the wide array of courses, and the daily smiles are a great way to spend your college experience.
Am enjoying being here This campus is very homey and cozy. Everyone goes out of their way to either say hello or smile while passing. The overall campus is set up almost like a community, so getting to know people is very easy if you are open to it.
Am learning a lot Saint Joe's has an extremely wide curriculum which lets you choose which classes interest you for your electives. Of course there are courses required which you must take, but if you pay attention, ask the professor for help (which they are ecstatic about doing), and learn an effective way to study for you, you will do well. With all the information that you are privy to, it's phenomenal how much you learn! I'm in my sophomore year and I still remember the smallest facts from the beginning of my freshman year.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students St. Joe's is a great college for students who want to be at a smaller college campus where most everyone knows who everyone is. Throughout the school year there are activities put on for St. Joe's that students can attend. St. Joe's is also a great school for students who want to go to a smaller college campus to get the education they need.
Tips for prospective students If you need help from any teacher, ask your teacher right away. Do not wait until the last minute. Your teachers are willing to help you if you show the effort that you want the help.
Bang for the buck I live in a low income family, so I was trying to find the college that would give me the best offer for financial aid. At St. Joe's they gave me more than half of the price to go to St. Joe's. Most of the financial aid was grants and work study money. There are few loans that you are given and will have to pay back.
Am enjoying being here Everyone at St. Joe's is very nice. At most high schools your social status matters if you are a freshmen or if you are a senior. At St. Joe's I have noticed that doesn't matter. I have become friends with people throughout different classes. The rooms at St. Joe's are very nice for college campus dorms. You can arrange your room to how you like it and make it home like if you want. The food at St. Joe's is a definite plus! More than half of the food here is organic food. St. Joe's has its own garden where vegetables are grown. All of the salad dresses are home made as well.
Am learning a lot The teachers at St. Joe's are very friendly and welcome questions at any time. At the beginning of the semester you will be given their office hours and they tell you, you can always email them or go up to their office for help. The class size ranges from 20-25 students. This gives students a lot of one on one with teachers if they need it.
