Family Psychology

Do you want to make a difference? If so, helping families by majoring in family psychology may be just what you've been looking for. This program allows you to assist people in need, and get to know individual members and their role within the family unit. A family psychology major prepares you to provide evaluative and therapeutic services to families. The major provides detailed instructions about natural family systems, therapies, assessment/interviewing techniques, diversity issues, family law, and standard ethics practiced in the field. Once you've graduated, you'll be able to choose from diverse career opportunities. You can pursue a career in specialized fields like child welfare, youth counseling, and juvenile corrections. There's also the option to look into other fields, like family counseling or social work. Whatever career path you choose, you'll always know your work is helping others.
