Colleges with the Highest Acceptance Rates

on June 21, 2017

Colleges and universities with the highest acceptance rates are among the least selective, admitting a high percentage of applicants. These 4-year colleges accept more than half of the students who apply for admission, so it is easier to get into these colleges.

The acceptance rate is the ratio of the number of admitted students to the number of applicants. The higher the acceptance rate, the less selective the college.

The yield is the ratio of the number of students who enroll to the number of admitted students. The higher the yield, the more likely students are to enroll. A high yield is an indication of a more desirable college.

The draw rate is the ratio of the yield to the acceptance rate. A low draw rate indicates that the college is less selective and less popular with students.

To ensure statistical significance, this table lists only colleges with at least 500 applications that enroll at least 250 students. These restrictions cause several small colleges to be omitted from the list. Only the 100 least selective colleges are included in this table.

The data for this table was obtained from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), which is reported by colleges and universities to the U.S. Department of Education.
