When it comes to scholarships, the bigger the better. Take a look at these scholarships that are $20,000 or more.
Proton OnSite Scholarship Program – Applicants for this scholarship must submit an essay on a topic related to renewable energy and hydrogen generation. High school seniors and college students are eligible for this scholarship. The award amount for this scholarship typically is $25,000.
Family Fellowship – This scholarship is for Texas college-bound students aging out of foster care. Applicants must have been in foster care for the previous year leading up to (and including) their 18th birthday. The award amount for this scholarship typically is $90,000.
Dells Scholars Program – This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who have participated in an approved college readiness program for a minimum of two years. Applicants should be attending college the fall directly after high school graduation. The typical award amount for this scholarship is $20,000.
Greenhouse Scholars Program Scholarship – This scholarship is for college-bound seniors who come from a house where the annual income is less than $70,000. The typical scholarship award amount is $20,000, with the money being doled out annually in $5,000 increments during the recipient's four years at college.
(ISC)2 Foundation Women's Scholarship – This scholarship is for women pursuing study in information security. Applicants must pursue a course of study and/or have declared a major with an information science (IA) concentration in one of the scientific, technical or managerial disciplines related to computer and network security. Scholarship recipients can earn up to $40,000.
Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois - This program is for students who are interested in a teaching career. Scholarship recipients must participate in Golden Apple Summer Institutes, obtain Illinois teacher certification from one of 53 participating Illinois universities and teach for five years in an Illinois school of need within seven years of graduation. Scholarship recipients receive $23,000 throughout four years.
Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Scholarship – This scholarship is for college-bound student athletes. Scholarship recipients receive the award amount in four annual $5,000. One of the 20 scholarship winners will receive an additional $5,000 scholarship.
Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship – This scholarship is for college-bound high school seniors. The award amount for this scholarship typically is $20,000.
Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program – This scholarship is for college-bound high school seniors who received standardized test scores in the top 15 percent: SAT combined score of 1,200 or above and/or ACT composite score of 26 or above. The award amount for this scholarship typically is $40,000.
