U.S. Department of Education Now Collecting College Complaints
The Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA) at the U.S. Department of Education has launched the FSA Feedback System at feedback.studentaid.ed.gov. Although the focus is on collecting complaints related to federal student aid programs, the system is also intended to gather complaints about college recruiting and marketing practices and misrepresentations of facts about colleges.
People can also submit positive feedback about colleges, loan servicers and the U.S. Department of Education through this feedback portal. A third option allows whistleblowers to report violations of federal laws concerning federal student aid.
Complaints about private student loans should still be submitted through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
When financial aid and federal student loans aren't enough to cover all college costs, consider financing the gap with private student loans. Shop around to find the loans that best fit your needs.
