This scholarship is for graduating seniors who live and attend school within Bluegrass Cellular's home-service area in Kentucky, which includes the following counties: Adair, Allen, Anderson, Barren, Breckinridge, Butler, Clinton, Cumberland, Edmonson, Grayson, Green, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Hart, LaRue, Laurel, Logan, Marion, McCreary, McLean, Meade, Mercer, Metcalfe, Monroe, Muhlenberg, Nelson, Ohio, Pulaski, Russell, Simpson, Spencer, Taylor, Todd, Warren, Washington, Wayne, and Whitley. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be graduating in the spring of 2014 and must enroll full-time in a postsecondary institution or higher education program (two- or four-year college/university, business school, or vocational-technical school/institute) as a beginning freshman in the fall of 2014. Applicants also must have a 2.5 GPA at the time of application. Applicants and/or their parent or legal guardian must be a current Bluegrass Cellular customer who has received service for a minimum of 12 months and is in good standing. Applicants cannot be employees or immediate family members of individuals who are employed with Bluegrass Cellular, Inc., Bluegrass Network, LLC, or any Bluegrass Cellular Authorized Agent. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic achievement, school/community involvement, and personal essay/letters of recommendation.
