Financial Need Scholarships

These first-year scholarships are based on financial need. They are available to any Lincoln resident who is graduating from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School or, in lieu of attendance at LSRHS, are graduating from Minuteman High School or an independent/private institution and needs additional funds over and above their family resources and the financial aid awards from their college (or other post-secondary school) of choice.

These scholarships are designed only to “fill the gap” between other resources and the total post-secondary school expense and should be requested only after all other options have
been explored. There is no set number of need- based scholarships, nor is there a set financial award. The number of recipients and the amounts of the scholarships depends on the number of applications and the donations the Scholarship Fund receives in a
particular year.

To apply, the student must submit the following four items:
a. PART I of the attached application form with the NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIP box checked.
b. PART II of the attached application form with all data complete and questions answered, including your interview date availability.
c. Your high school transcript.
d. A letter of recommendation from a teacher or adviser at your school.
