Categories Comments What to do for fun Boone, NC is FULL of fun all you have to do is put a pair of boots on and go walk around!
Food and Dining No food or dining.
Dorm Life There are no dorms here.
Academic Rigor I think caldwell is challenging in some ways but I have found school is much easier when you don't have to attend from 8am to 4pm.
Tips for prospective students The 44-Core program for transfer students is the best way to finish your general education and move on to the college you desire to graduate from. Don't be lazy the teachers spell every thing out fro you so there is no reason for failure.
In three sentences Caldwell Community College has given me a way to afford school and transfer to the school I want to go to with ease. The classroom sizes are very small, which has benefitted me greatly while completing my general education. My teachers have left a good impression on me because of their caring nature.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have campus security trolling the parking lots throughout the day. They are there when needed and should there be a need for another authority to assist, they are close by and ready to come at a moments notice.
Clubs and Activities There are several clubs that will offer a sense of belonging and give you a group of people with similar goals that you can go to when needed for a little encouragement. Many of the groups hold activities on campus to show their school spirit and offer a little information on what they really are about.
Great for these types of students CCC&TI is really great for any type of student! Straight out of high school or returning later to enhance your skills, you will find a program that fits your needs. Married, single, divorced, widowed or undecided, there is a program that will help you get your education on your own terms.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Nothing really unusual that I can speak of but we do have a Fall Fling and a Spring Fling for local vendors to come out and sell their wares as well as some of the colleges programs offer information and encourage you to explore your possibilities. The culinary program shows off their skills as well as the agricultural programs. You can buy trees, shrubs and flowers that they have grown during their program of study!
Bang for the buck Attending a smaller community college has been a blessing in disguise! You are able to get a great education and pay much less to get it. We are not in a busy downtown metropolis and we don't have all of the flashy extras that you would pay for in them either. We simply offer a quality education for a decent price.
What to do for fun Again, we are a small town so there are few options for fun. Most of the locals travel to nearby towns for entertainment. We are growing so we have a few places to hang out, study or just relax and have a good time. Bowling, arcades, movies, shopping, libraries, coffee shops and the newly famous frozen yogurt bars
Food and Dining The college café is a little pricey but we have a few options within walking distance of the campus. Fast food restaurants, and a convenience store are all around the campus.
Dorm Life We do not have dorms.
Academic Rigor Most of the classes are exactly what you would expect from a college course, however, with the class sizes being smaller, the instructors are able to answer your questions and help you understand the material a little better than you would just reading it on your own.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of any advance registrations, book store availabilities, financial aid services or counseling services. Because we are a smaller college, there seem to be fewer seats available for classes so they fill up quickly.
In three sentences I really enjoy attending college in a small town for the atmosphere, the friendliness of staff and fellow students, and the slower pace, laid back style. The campuses are smaller so they are easy to navigate but we have access to just as many resources as some of the larger colleges.

Great for these types of students Students that are paying for college themselves or just aren't ready for a four year college yet
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Watuga campus is located on a mountain over looking several other mountains which makes for an awesome location and incredible view.
What to do for fun Caldwell sometimes throws events for students to come eat, play all sorts of games and hangout.
Food and Dining The do events that offer free food to students
Dorm Life There are no dorms because it's community
Academic Rigor Most teachers are great, school is clean with good environment, amazing view and will help you with classes and paying for them.
Tips for prospective students If you are in the Boone area and just graduated high school or are short on money then really consider going to Caldwell. It is definitely one of the best community's out there and lots of the teachers are app state teachers so you are getting the same education as you would be if you attended app.
In three sentences Caldwell Community is a great college where they really do care about their students(except for a few teachers). Definitely a good place to get started at before going to a four-year school. To rate it on a scale I'd give it a 8/10.

Categories Comments What to do for fun They have ping pong tables and pool tables located in E building. This is not a place that you stay there all the time. This is a community college. So it does not have that much to do on campus.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is extremely safe. Even though it is an open campus, I believe it is safe because you can't get away with anything. There are camera's everywhere and security officers patrolling the parking lots. They also have random checks and bring officers with their k-9 to sniff out the campus to ensure every one's safety.
Clubs and Activities They have a lot of clubs that you could participate in and a lot of activities as well. Every major has their own club and even though they are optional, they provide great ways to give back and network. You have the opportunity to meet new people and travel in all of the clubs available on campus
Great for these types of students CCC&TI is great for every type of student. Education does not discriminate and neither does CCC&TI. You have to be willing to learn and ask for help if you need it. They have many programs set in place to help students who ask for it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus hang out spots are in the breezeway, the outside patio that is beside the cafeteria, in the gym, and behind H building because they have a beautiful gazebo there.
Bang for the buck I am a strong believer in you get what you pay for. With CCC&TI they aim to please you, the student. You can go to many Universities but what you are truely paying for is the reputation of their name. With CCC&TI, you don't have to be the wealthiest person in the world to attend but if you do you can assure you will be expected to learn and actions will be taken place for you to learn.
What to do for fun CCC&TI have certain events to make campus life fun. For example they will have student festivals with music, food, games, dancing contests, costume contests, and more! They also have a lot of shows playing throughout the day in their theater on campus. There is always people sitting in the lobby section of the cafeteria singing and playing music instruments. You can always find someting to do on campus!
Food and Dining They have two cafeteria's and the food is usually pretty good. If the whole cafeteria isn't your scene they have a lot of fast food places around, including a Bojangles and Captain's Gallery directly in front of the campus and an Arby's directly beside campus.
Dorm Life There is no dorm life considering this is a community college.
Academic Rigor When it comes to academics, the instructors do not play games. You have to remember, they already have their degree and education .... you are the one who needs them to make it where you want to be. They enforce the rules of the campus and the attendance policy. All the instructors I have met thus far are really overly qualified and so they are very particular about everything. They mean well and they are there to help their students better themselves and that's what I appreciate about CCC&TI.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students the best tip I could give you is to ask questions. Luckily, CCC&TI's handbook is very informative and easy to understand so you will not have many. Another tip I would give prospective students is to ALWAYS check your email because a lot of times that is the only way you will find out what is going on in some classes or on campus. Especially if you are just thinking about taking hybird or online classes.
In three sentences Caldwell Community College is a great college to get started with. Their staff members are very professional and helpful. They really like to make sure every student is treated fairly and have an excellent college experience, as well as an outstanding opportunity to learn.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus is very safe. Police drive around campus almost all day long. To add to that, there are also security guards that drive around as well.
Greek Life No Greek Life
Clubs and Activities There is a large variety of clubs and activities, a few being Student Government, Alpha Sigma, Poetry Club, and Intramurals. You just have to find the one that is right for you.
Great for these types of students This college is great for someone who wants a laid back, easy going college. Everyone is nice and helpful. If you like small classes and need a lot of help with studying, tutoring, etc, then this is the school for you!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a beautiful walking track that goes through the woods just behind the school, not many people know about it. It leads back to the community pool and is loaded with flowers and beautiful trees and plants.
Bang for the buck The programs at this college are easy to get into and it has a pretty high success rate after graduation. They care about their students. They also have a Job Link program that helps students to find a job once they have graduated.
What to do for fun The school has many things to do for fun. The intramurals are a lot of fun. A lot of people like to go play ultimate frisbee on Wednesday. Volleyball is every Tuesday and Thursday and anyone can play, whether they are good or not.
Food and Dining There is a small canteen in the bottom of the main building. The food is overly expensive and terrible. The snack machines around campus are very cheap.
Dorm Life There are no dorms.
Academic Rigor The teachers are fairly strict, but it is because they want to see their students succeed. As long as each student pays attention and does their work, hey can make at least a B and quite possibly an A. The teachers always assign, for the most part, homework.
Tips for prospective students When applying, sign up for the first orientation so to be sure and get every class wanted. Don't listen to what other people say about teachers, as another professor what they think, they will usually be honest and really try to help. Always go to the LRC for tutoring.
In three sentences This school has wonderful teachers, with a few exceptions. All the classes are relatively small, so you can get one on one help. All the teachers are glad to help whenever you need them to.
