Long Beach has a lot of places to visit since it is such a big city. You can go to the beach, aquarium, museums, the pike, and restaurants on the pier. 2nd street and the pike are well known for their restaurants and night life.

The best part, I think, about CSULB, is the free public transportation. For those who aren't going to have cars their first year of college (like me) this is a great way to explore Long Beach. You basically have all of Long Beach at your disposal, a free bus ride away. No paying for gas! I recommend you get some friends, and take a bus to Shoreline Village to play in the arcade there, and win stuff! But that's only one of the many cool things in Long Beach. There are First Fridays, where in Downtown and the Shoreline, every first Friday of the month, one can go and enjoy free local music, arts and crafts, and free food samples! Allow me to emphasize that your transportation there is free!

Long beach is in Los Angeles County, so of course there are many things to do. I'd suggest going to the Pike, which has many restaurants, a movie theatre, and a lighthouse nearby.

There are plenty of things to do for fun around Long Beach like at the dorms and also going to the beach is also fun. You can always also go to the University Student Union and go bowling or play other games.

The school will hold free admission to campus sporting events, and movie screenings on campus. Many students are found in the University Student Union eating, playing video games, listening to the campus radio station, playing pool, swimming, or getting exercise at the huge Student Recreation and Wellness Center. The Student Recreation and Wellness Center has multiple indoor volleyball and basketball courts, indoor racket ball courts, indoor rock climbing, outdoor beach volleyball court, weights, multiple cardio machines, weights, and classes that can be taken.

For fun you can get involved in school. You can join greek life, and or a club. There are several events hosted by CSULB ASI throughout the school year and they are honestly worth the time.
