The University of California-Davis is a “more selective” land-grant institution located in Sacramento Valley and one of 10 campuses in the University of California System. This Public Ivy has been classified by The Carnegie Foundation as having “very high research activity.” The university, which was originally founded as a farming school, is committed to sustainability and is home to 20 LEED certified buildings. UC Davis also houses the Agricultural Sustainability Institute.
Davis is basically a city disguised as a town. The overall atmosphere you get is great and the people here are really friendly. The university itself excels in many areas and offers a lot of experiences and opportunities for its students.
