While I love the lunch staff, the food is not very healthy and ridiculously overpriced. Getting the lunch special (sandwich, chips, drink) and a muffin costs a MINIMUM of $5. If you don't like the soda machine drinks you can add on at least $2 for something from the refrigerator. If you want a higher quality dessert than plastic wrapped processed sweets, you add on $3. I spend between $7-13 on lunches. To save money, pack a lunch There are microwaves.
The lunch room closes at 3p, so it isn't available from evening students. If you are there before 3p, DO NOT by bottled water. You can get a large Styrofoam cup for a little over 50 cents. Bottled water costs more than $1.
The dining room itself is typically crowded and pretty rowdy. The tables aren't always clean. The only real benefit to eating in the dining room is if you can meet with friends, or would like to listen to the open mic on Tuesday or Wednesday (I'm not sure what day it is).
