FIU is a great value play if you're A) an in-state student who likes the Miami area, or B) a trust fund kid who likes the Miami area. It's not a GREAT school, but it could certainly be worse (won't name any names here). If you come here, you more than likely won't regret it.

the dorm and meal plan packages are relatively cheap. using your one card in conjunction with your wells fargo bank account is also really useful and gets you discounts

this is a school that has a reletively low price, but trust me, you are getting what you pay for. i havent even started at fiu and have already had a horrible experience with the onestop service. they dont respond their emails and were really rude sometimes. the school has a lot of spiderwebs, it looks like spiderman came to the campus and started swinging everywhere. the school is old and although it looks good through the outside, the inside is really not that special at all. come to this school if you want to pay a very low price or live close, otherwise, avoid this place at all cost.

for the price, i believe fiu does provide bang for the buck. despite many seemingly unneccessary fees, there are a lot of included items that fiu offers.
