The Massachusetts College of Art and Design is situated in the city of Boston and is the only publicly funded independent art school in the nation. All undergraduates follow a liberal arts curriculum alongside studio work to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). MassArt was the first art school in the US to award degrees. A majority of students choose to study illustration, cinematography and video production, and graphic design.
