Most Helpful Review for State University of New York at New Paltz

The statement I am learning a lot at SUNY New Paltz is really a hit or miss depending on who your professor is. I have learned a lot from some professors, but I truly feel that other courses were an utter waste of time. If you suspect your professor doesn't know what they are doing after a few days of class, I suggest dropping it right away and adding a different one.

SUNY New Paltz is a very diverse and open school. Most students get along and it feels like the entire student body is one big family. It is easy to make friends and to find people who are interested in just about anything, if you are someone who wants to start a business, a band, a fundraiser, or whatever random idea it may be, there will always be someone who will support you.

It is a nice medium size campus and is surrounded by nature. The Dinning Hall food is average;I wish there was more variety. Most dorms do not have air conditioning unless it is one of the newer built dorms

If you are a commuter student, especially if you have a family of your own, this school is NOT going to make any effort to accommodate you! The teachers might, depending upon who you get. If you are going back to school, don't go here!

The programs and classes offered are great for the price. Most professors take a genuine interest in their students with lots of opportunities for learning outside of the classroom. The campus is very nice and the student body is accepting.
