Founded in 1871, SUNY College at Geneseo is a state liberal arts college and designated space-grant institution. Many students choose to study abroad through popular humanities programs offered in Rome, Athens, Prague, or Paris. The school is home to the Spencer J. Roemer Arboretum which is home to several trees, wildflowers, and shrubs, including oak trees which are said to be over 200 years old. Admissions are rated as “more selective.”
SUNY at Geneseo is absolutely extraordinary! Not only is the academic rigor both trying and involving, but the students are also friendly and welcoming! As a transfer student, I am so glad I came here and could experience a place as wonderful as SUNY Geneseo.
An institution of higher education where establishing a sense of community is a large focus of the campus. Students are encouraged to become involved and often work alongside community members. The approachability of the professors and their sincere interest in having students succeed creates an environment where directed studies are encouraged and allow for an opportunity to work alongside faculty on a project that caters to student interest.
