Located adjacent to the Illinois Institute of Technology campus on Chicago’s south side, the VanderCook College of Music is the only music teacher training institution in the United States. VanderCook’s educational curriculum culminates in a Bachelor of Music Education degree with concentrations in choral or instrumental music. The college’s degree program includes a student teaching field experience for every undergrad. Every student is further required to participate in one of VanderCook’s large ensembles and several smaller ensembles also give performances on campus throughout the year.
