Try and do as much as you can. I regret not doing MORE my freshman and sophomore year. As a junior, I'm running out of time... Go to concerts, go to parties (you only have to go to one, if you want), meet with your professors, try every station at all the dining halls, hang out with people you're only class friends with, do something outside of your comfort zone. Have fun, but work hard. Take classes you're interested in, just because you want to! Everything can be fun at school if you let it.

Football is the biggie during fall. Tickets to games can be won for free through a lottery system, so don't miss your chance. The gym is free and has basketball courts, ping-pong and pool tables, and a swimming pool. There's also Breakzone which has a bowling alley and video games. You can always see the intramurals going on in the Drillfield--from flag football to Quidditch to slacklining.

Join clubs, hang out with friends, walk around downtown Blacksburg. There's so much to do. There are always parties going on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. And it's easy to find someone playing volleyball or frisbee and join in.

On weekdays, clubs and sports present welcome reliefs from academics while on weekends, athletic games are very important to Tech culture. Partying is a thing but not huge. Most people enjoy going to movies or exercising together.

I joined a sorority my freshman year and LOVE it. I'm not a typical sorority girl, though. I am also involved in Car Club and the VT Clay Target Team. I also play Intramural sports like soccer and innertube water polo. The gyms are also awesome and there are tons of cool hikes like McAfee's Knob, Dragon's Tooth, Cascades, and Devil's Marbleyard, to name a few.

The beautiful campus is surrounded by beautiful mountains so there are lots of outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking. Other than that there are always parties going on during the weekends in campus and also outside.

There are tons of clubs and organizations on campus that you are able to become involved in. Greek life is a part of Virginia tech that I myself became involved in, but it is not the central part of campus life. Intramural sports with a group of friends is a great way to relax and have fun in a not-so-serious environment, however it does get competitive!

I go to parties with all of my friends, but there are plenty of other things to do as well without being in a fraternity or sorority. For example, I am on the swim club and I have made some of my best friends there. Everybody finds their own club or activity and there will always be people with common interests.
