WVU is a big school; however, I have not met a professor who is not willing to help students outside of class. Even though there can be classrooms filled with 200 students at a time, it is very easy to get to know the professor and to work with them one-on-one to really understand the material. As long as the student is willing to work, the professor will work with them. Along with professors being a very useful resource, there are other options on campus such as tutors, study groups, and teacher assistants.

Sometimes getting past WVU's reputation can be hard, especially looking at it as a potential school. What I have told students who I meet visiting the college is that this is the kind of place where you feel completely at home. WVU has the best atmosphere and the college experience is what you make it.

West Virginia University is definitely a great school to go to despite of the negative publicity they receive. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the people there are fantastic. The only difficulty is traveling between campuses.

West Virginia University was the best decision I have ever made. It has so many opportunities for students and so many extracurricular activities for students that want to meet new people. West Virginia University is full of diversity but most important will help students better their futures and live a happier life.

Nestled in the hills of north central West Virginia, WVU is a land-grant university that has served the state since 1867. Despite having a population of over 30,000 students, one can still feel the tie associated with a small school while still living in a modern, urban area. A very diverse social and cultural atmosphere blends with academics that provide opportunities beyond what one can imagine, harboring an environment of creativity while fostering a future of success.

West Virginia University, a school bursting with pride and excitement, is a great school to attend! Just be aware that there is a lot of partying and alcohol, which can be easily avoided but also easily tempted into. The campus is incredibly large as well, so finding things and making time schedules to get somewhere is really confusing at first!

West Virginia University is a socialization haven which challenges you to focus on the path you choose. However, if you find that you aren't fulfilled in your major, you can seek help from academic advisors (who are eager to assist you). After all, you are responsible for your own educational experience, and your time at WVU will prove how committed to that experience you are.

Not only that, but there is a wide range of classes--from big lectures to small classrooms--to help you get the most learning out of your time at WVU.
